Power Station Damietta.
One of the largest power generation and production plants in Damietta Governorate in Egypt. The plant was completely refurbished using our equipment from telescopic liftsAnd lattes boom. Project Description.Converting West Damietta 2 gas power station. To work as a combined cycle by adding 250 MW to become 750 MW capacity. It shows the components of the project, which is built on an area of 85 acres. With a total capacity of 1500 megawatts, they were connected to the national grid of the Arab Republic of Egypt, and it includes two phases, "West Damietta 1", which includes 4 gas units. The unit has a capacity of 25 megawatts, and a steam unit has been added to it to maximize the utilization of the amount of energy generated from the gas units, as the cost of the phase is 315 million dollars, and it entered service in June 2014, the second phase "West Damietta 2" is equipped with 4 gas units, and 1 Steam turbine, at a cost of $ 233 million. It entered service in December 2015, and installed units have been added for the two phases. Powered by Air Cooled Condenser technology, to generate additional electrical energy without the use of fuel, and in accordance with specific environmental requirements.
Economic and social importance: Raise the efficiency of the plant and operate 250 megawatts without using additional fuel. The total capacity of the project will be 750 MW. This is to contribute to meeting the loads required for factories, major investment projects, and tourism and agricultural projects.
Converting the two gas generating stations of Al-Shabab and West Damietta to work on a combined cycle system, as part of the 2012-2017 five-year plan projects to support the electrical network to cope with the increasing loads and to achieve development in all fields. In her statement, she added that the contract value for the steam turbines and energy recovery boilers for the two projects is about 2454 million Egyptian pounds, explaining that the project is funded by the European Investment Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the Islamic Development, the Saudi Fund for Development and the National Bank of Egypt. Dr. Muhammad al-Yamani, spokesman for the Ministry of Electricity, told Al-Watan that working with the combined cycle means increasing the capacity of the electricity project by 50%, adding that this comes to support the electrical network, raise its efficiency, and provide electrical nutrition for all state institutions and citizens. A project aims to expand the station to contribute to meeting the increasing demand for electric power, as it will provide an additional 250 megawatts of electricity to the aforementioned station, bringing its total capacity to 750 megawatts. Egypt had obtained a loan of 25 million dollars from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development to contribute to financing part of the project cost, and another 200 million dollars from the Islamic Development Bank to contribute to financing part of the project cost. In August 2012, the West Damietta plant entered service, with a capacity of 500 megawatts, within the framework of the capacity of 1800 megawatts, set by the Ministry of Electricity and Energy. New generating capacities
for each of Damietta West Power Station and Abu Qir Steam Power Station, implemented by Al-Kharafi Company as the main contractor.
